About Us
Westview High School in Portland, Oregon, has a free student clothes closet known as the “Cat Cave” (we are the Westview Wildcats). Located on campus, it is open during lunch times to support our homeless and at-risk students to help them focus on and be successful in school. We offer clothes, shoes, school supplies, and toiletries/personal care items. The Cat Cave is Westview Parent Teacher Organization-run and community-supported. We welcome donations, and as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, they may be tax-deductible (please check with your tax adviser).

Student Testimonials
“I got shampoo, a toothbrush and toothpaste from the Cat Cave. They also have body wash, deodorant and shaving stuff. I used to be embarrassed about going to school when I couldn’t wash up.”
“Because of the Cat Cave, I have a backpack and school supplies for the whole year. It’s so much easier to carry things now, and I have a place to store them.”
“Last winter was really cold. I got a warm jacket, a beanie and gloves from the Cat Cave, which really helped. I also got a nice fleece blanket, so I’m warmer when I sleep.”
